Tempering is the heat treatment process which is performed building glasses. This process can be carried out on the colored glass, reflective, printed or glazed glass too.
This type of glass is the product of window glass, colored, reflex, printed or lacquered.

The process of tempering glass
Heat treatment: Heat treatment is from goblet glass uniform heating to a temperature of glass softness (over700 ° C). The heated glass is rapidly cooled by blowing cold air on both the glass surface. In this process, the glass is heated to the softening phase above 700 ° C, then very cool air is rapidly blown to the sides of the glass.
In the chilling phase of the glass, the outer layers are cooling faster than the internal layers which causes solidity in the glass.

During cooling, glass surfaces are cooled faster than its center which causes to create permanent tensions and therefore solidity in the glass.
Thermal furnaces are either Convection and elemental. Elemental furnaces are furnaces that heat is induced glass by element. Convection furnaces relatively is more expensive than elemental furnace but ,due to the induction of heat by the heat of the inside furnace tempered will be achived smoother and better.

The using advantages of tempered glass
Compared with raw glass with the same thikness, tempered glass is more resistance against fracture, that is to say its mechanical strength becomes, more than 5 times, higher.
In case of breaking glass, tempered glass turns into small pieces with smooth edges which doesn’t have the cutting power. This reduces the risk of injury.

Uses
Toughened or tempered glass is used where strength, resistance to heat and safety are considered.
Tempered glass generally is used in the auto industry on the sides and rear of the vehicle to counteract of glass shattering into large pieces.
The glass laminate is used in the windshield, because it does not break when hit.
Retrofitting glass(tempered) is used when parameters such as mechanical strength and safety find considerable importance. For windshield, laminated glass is used instead because it doesn’t separate when break.
It can produce ,in appliance with the use of machines such as CNCs and fully automatic cuts - water jet machines - Lathe machines with the ability to set any kind of impression - fully automatic printing machines - the furnaces of convection type - and so, any type of patterned hood glasses with any type of cut ranging from body and panel - glassy sinks with worked designs on the glass-desktop gas stove and built in oven and refrigerator-decorative glasses.
Tempered glass, in the process of building, is used for structures without frame such as door and or any place that there is the possibility of damaging to human.
Tempered glass is not cutting capability or shaping. All processes such as cutting, piercing, etc. must be done before tempering the glass.
